Packed and ready to go!

Just about ready to set off.

Our plan is to drive down to Ashford, in Kent, where we're staying overnight before boarding an early morning Eurotunnel train on Saturday.

We're then going to drive down to Beaune in Burgundy, we'll get there on Saturday afternoon - allowing Alix some time for shopping therapy and some time for me to sit in the main square with a glass or two of the local grape juice. (Alix:  Or 3....or 4.....)

It's our wedding anniversary a few days after after we get back home from the Pyrenees - 22 years.....I know what you're thinking, Alix must have been a child bride........not quite, but she'd only just graduated and finished at university when we met. Yes, I was a lucky boy! (Alix: Awww....how true!)

Anyway, the point is that as we're in romantic Beaune, all alone (sans fils, as they say locally), nice hotel, great wine, good food......we'll have a little anniversary celebration!!

On Sunday we are then driving to Toulouse for an overnight stay before finishing the journey to Hendaye on the Atlantic coast on Monday. We've got a briefing session and a group dinner on Monday evening with the other 13 folk riding with us.

The ride starts (as does the clock, 100 hours remember) at 9am prompt after, ceremonially, dipping our toes in the the Atlantic.
